Hon. Bright Wireko-Brobby is the Member of Parliament for the Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency Central Region. He assumed duty as Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations on 13th April, 2017.
Personal Life and Education
Hon. Bright Wireko-Brobby was born on 6th January, 1972 in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. He is a trained lawyer from the Ghana School of Law, where he obtained his Bachelor of Law degree in September 2016. He also holds a certificate in LLB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana (June 2013), a post-graduate Diploma in Regional Development Planning and Management from Dortmund University Dortmund, Germany (August 2001) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from KNUST, Ghana (1997).
Leadership
Hon. Wireko-Brobby is a Development Planner with nearly 20 years of experience in Education Planning and Rural Development. He has worked extensively with the Ghana Education Service and many District Assemblies across Ghana.
The Hon. Deputy Minister has also worked as a resource person for a number of bilateral and multilateral organizations such as USAID, UNHCR and UNDP, among others in the areas of Education Management and Rural Development. Furthermore, he has undertaken extensive work for the Ghana Cocoa Board in all cocoa growing areas in Ghana. He is currently a member of the Spring International Association of Development Planners (SIADP).
Career
As part of his career development, the Hon. Deputy Minister served in the following institutions: BADUWA Chamber, Cape Coast (October 2016 to date); Development Consultant Community Empowerment Associates, Kumasi (February 2011 – December 31, 2016); Coordinate CARE Ghana, Kumasi (September 2005 – February 2011); Education Specialist, USAID GATT II Project, Accra (August 2000 – July 2005) and Management Trainer/Field programme, QUIPS, USAID (September 1998 – July 2004).
He is married with six (6) children.
